đź“Ś How to Order the Right Adapter (3 Easy Steps):

  1. Determine Your Planer Type:

    • Is your planer unmodified or modified? (See installation instructions below)
  2. Identify Your Planer Version (If Modified):

    • Two versions of this planer exist, with slightly different pre-drilled screw points.
    • Version 1: 1 3/8 inch spacing between the two bottom screw points.
    • Version 2: 1 1/4 inch spacing between the two bottom screw points, easily identifiable by a large white adapter plate (see photo).
  3. Select Your Hose Compatibility:

    • Choose the adapter designed to fit your specific hose size.

Installation Instructions:

Mounting the Adapter:

  1. Secure the adapter to your planer using the three included mounting screws.
    • ⚠️ Hand-tighten only to prevent stripping.
  2. If the screw feels like it’s bottoming out, back it out and re-drill to a depth of 1 inch before remounting.
  3. Attach the hose by firmly pressing it into the top of the adapter.
    • đź’ˇ Helpful Tip: Twist the hose while pressing inward for a secure fit.

Modifying a Stock Planer:

  1. Hold the adapter plate tightly against the planer and use it as a drill guide.
  2. Use a 1/8-inch drill bit to create mounting points drilled to a depth of 1 inch.

Find the Perfect Hose for Your Dust Collection System

When it comes to connecting your tools to a dust collection system, choosing the right hose can make all the difference. Here’s a breakdown

🌊 Rock and Sea Flex Max Hose

The Rock and Sea Flex Max Hose offers unmatched elasticity and flexibility, making it the ultimate choice for ceiling-mounted dust collection systems. Designed to stretch from a compact 22 inches to an impressive 12 feet under tension.  With a slightly wider diameter than Foam Ez and Shaper Supply hoses, it delivers superior airflow for enhanced dust extraction. This hose stretches and contracts effortlessly as you move, staying out of your way when not needed.

Why It’s the Best:

• Excels at dust extraction for shaping or sanding

• Wider diameter for improved airflow

• Exceptional elasticity—perfect for overhead setups

• Stays compact when not in use, keeping your workspace clean

Foam Ez & Shaper Supply Hoses

These hoses are both elastic and flexible, best when ceiling-mounted, expanding and contracting as you move along your board. The two hoses are nearly identical, with  a slight 2mm difference in diameter.

Best For:

• Ceiling-mounted setups where elasticity and flexibility are key.

• General dust collection for shaping and sanding

Home Depot’s Blue 1.75” FlexDuct Hose

The Blue FlexDuct Hose offers incredible flexibility without elasticity. Measuring 12 feet long, it maintains its length whether in use or at rest. This hose is ideal for shop vac setups on the ground, smoothly flexing with your movements without restriction.

Best For:

• Ground-based dust collection systems with shop vacs.

• Situations where constant length is preferred over stretchability.
