Metabo P20ST Dust Collector

Dealing with excessive dust in the shaping bay?  This dust collector was custom designed to hook your Metabo P20ST planer to your dust collecting system.

• What is the difference between hoses?
• Foam Ez and Shaper Supply's hoses are both elastic, at rest they are about 1 foot in length but gently stretch out under tension to 12 feet long.  These two hoses are typically best used when mounted to the ceiling, the hoses stretch with you as you walk back and forth working on your board.  Both hoses are essentially the same with only a slight 2mm difference in diameter.
• Home Depot's Blue 1.75 inch FlexDuct hose is incredibly flexible but has no elasticity.  It comes in 12 foot lengths and under tension or resting it essentially is always 12 feet long.  This hose is amazing for dust setups where your shop vac is on the ground and the hose hasn't been attached to the ceiling.  It freely flexes with you as you move back and forth working on your board.

Install

• adapter mounts to planer with a front hooking latch and then a simple single included mounting screw
• *Hand tighten only to avoid stripping
• if it feels like your screw is bottoming out, back out and re-drill to 1 inch before attempting to re-mount
  
• when installing the hose, twist while pressing hose forcefully inwards into adapter

Modifying a stock planer

• hold adapter plate tightly against the planer and use as a drill guide
• use 1/8th drill bit to drill mounting point 1 inch deep
